Chapter Projects

Gamma Eta continues to be a very active and productive chapter that strives to contribute to the communities and the people we represent.   The chapter’s priority goal is to provide scholarships to young women entering the field of education.   To this end, chapter members participate in three activities to raise funds:  a garage sale, quilt raffle, and pin sales.   All members have an opportunity to become actively involved in each of these projects.

Gamma Eta’s second goal is to encourage literacy.  Each year, books are purchased and distributed to new mothers at our local hospital.   A pamphlet that emphasizes the importance of reading and encourages the new mother to read to her child is also included.

Our chapter’s third goal is to support other community-based agencies in their endeavors.   Each year Gamma Eta members ring bells for the Salvation Army.  When any of us travel, we collect the complimentary soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and body lotions supplied by motels’/hotels and donate them to the Women’s Resource Center.

Gamma Eta is proud to be able to participate in all of these endeavors and continues to seek other opportunities to serve.  Our membership reaps the benefits and rewards of working together to accomplish common goals.
